Winter Park, Fla. – O,R&L Facility Services recently teamed up with the Winning Ways Sports Management, a Central Florida-based basketball program, to host the first annual “Orlando Rising Stars Basketball Clinic” on August 27-28, 2010.
“At O,R&L Facility Services we are dedicated to providing support and enrichment in the communities in which we do business, which is why we fund programs like the ‘Orlando Rising Stars Basketball Clinic,’” said Bob Owens, CEO of O,R&L.
In addition to athletic training, camp attendees learned about nutrition, teamwork, facing adversity and the importance of academic excellence. During a breakout session, Barry Mestel, president and CEO of Winning Ways, focused on relating on-court techniques to off-court life skills, in order to help bring participants “from the backboard to the boardroom.” Attendees had the opportunity to win Orlando Magic merchandise including jerseys, hats and banners, as well as a shoe autographed by Julius “Dr. J” Erving and a basketball signed by Rashard Lewis.
