From environmental concerns to a dedicated eye on the bottom line, O,R&L understands the importance of Energy Management in the operation of its facilities and the pursuit of energy efficiency. We look for strategies that will improve energy efficiency and reduce costs. These strategies may include the following:
O,R&L’s managed buildings for the State of New York Department of Environmental Conservation at 625 Broadway and the State of New York Department of Transportation headquarters at 50 Wolf Road, Albany, have earned the 2010 Energy Star which is the national mark of excellence in energy performance. Facilities that have earned the Energy Star are certified energy efficient and exhibit a smaller carbon footprint.
O,R&L has direct experience with the management of a LEED-NC Silver rated building. This LEED-Silver certification was approved by the United States Green Building Council (USGBC) The 471,000 square foot building is owned by the State of New York is the first LEED-certified building in the State and houses the New York Department of Environmental Conservation.
This State agency is committed to the conservation and preservation of nature’s resources, providing a healthy internal environment for its employees, as well as developing energy conservation policies and principles for the State. Under our management, we have introduced pro-active procedures that have supported the State and the Agency’s policies, such as Energy Conservation, Water Conservation, Indoor Air Quality, High Performance Mechanical Equipment, Highly Structured Preventative Maintenance Program, Green Cleaning Program and a Recycling Program
O,R&L is also working with the City of Orlando providing management and operations of their 250,000 square foot City Hall. The City is pursuing LEED-EB certification from the USGBC, and O,R&L is assisting in that process. We are proud to be involved with these two prestigious facilities.
